Content
When editing or creating a new article there are more parameters such as the Author, Access Level, Created Date, Start Publishing and Finish Publishing
Sections - Categories - Articles and Menus
Content can be organized into sections and categories. Joomla! provides two main styles of presentation called "List" and "Blog" with many variations depending on which parameters are set.
The Menu types for articles are:
- Section Layout (a list of categories in a section)
- Section Blog Layout ( a list of articles in a section in a blog layout)
- Category List Layout (a list of articles in a category)
- Category Blog Layout (a list of articles in a category in a blog format)
- Article Layout (point to a single article)
- Article Submission Layout (if your site allows submission of articles)
- Archived Article List (if you have 'archived' articles, they can still be found here)
- Front Page Layout (articles you have chosen to be on the FrontPage in a blog format)
List Layout
A section list layout can have an optional section description and image or just a title, optional category descriptions and images or just titles. A category list layout has articles that can show "teaser" text with a "Read More..." link or just titles.
Blog Layout
A blog layout is a number of articles, usually some "teaser" text with a "Read More..." link. You can have 1 or more "leading" articles that will span the entire content area followed by a number of articles in multiple columns followed by links to any number of columns.
The possibilities are endless!
